That's kind of what I was thinking. I don't see why someone wouldn't want a veteran that has the knowledge he has and is okay with being in a special teams or backup role.

I think one other factor that is easy to forget is for tenured veterans like Dahl, is that once they make the roster, their entire salary in guaranteed, so they often get cut for that reason to save a few bucks. If he clears waivers, he then is paid week to week if signed by another team.

    Dammit:

Rotoworld - Jets released ILB Joe Mays.
Mays was given $60,000 guaranteed in April and would have been owed a $20,000 roster bonus if he was on the roster Week 1. A two-down thumper entering his age-30 season, Mays could struggle to find a new home.

As of right now KE is the only Bison that looks like a shoe in as a solid NFL starter

I think Marcus William will be used in dime coverage, maybe nickel. He impressed during the pre-season.

If not, both have been in the NFL long enough and have made a pile of cash in addition to qualifying for an nfl pension. *

Need to be on active roster for 4 years. Pension starts at 55 years old. NFL put in $2 for every $1 contributed.
