Why is Haeg not starting? All the Colt games I watched he was the only lineman making consistent blocks.

Like Billy Turner here in Denver, Joe looks great for most of the plays I watch him play. However, the press says otherwise. Apparently a missed block once or twice a game overshadows their actual body of work. For example, I watched Billy pancake the heck out of defender on Saturday, but the only mention I heard about him was his last play when he whiffed pretty bad on a block and ended up giving up a sack.

With that said, both will make their respective rosters, but probably won't be starting right away.
    Hail the BISON!!!

Linemen are tough to come by these days. Ben Leber has talked about it often on KFAN. Basically his take was the high speed, spread, RPO, offenses that are very common in college don't translate to the NFL very well. Heck a lot of these guys rarely have had to play out of a three point stance. I would think that would make NDSU type linemen an attractive option to NFL teams.

Seems to me that they like Haeg in the swiss army knife role. He can play all positions, so they seem to be trying to lock other guys into one position and then use Haeg to fill in the gaps due to injuries or to give a rest to one of the other lineman. It's actually as useful as a starting role IMO.

I was thinking about this the other day...Is anyone missing from my list (as of today) that is on some sort of NFL squad right now?

    - Carson Wentz, Eagles
    - Joe Haeg, Colts
    - Billy Turner, Broncos
    - Marcus Williams, Saints
    - CJ Smith, Broncos
    - Nick Deluca, Jaguars
    - Ramon Humber, Bills
    - Kyle Emanuel, Chargers
    - Chris Board, Ravens
    Former NDSU intramural athlete.
