Number of schools shouldn't matter much. Number of students should matter more. Doesn't Montana have 6 man football?

Yep, they play it here in Terry. If memory serves correct there's like 80 schools in the state that play it. Painful to watch....kinda like a track meet with helmets and shoulder pads.

No! The number of schools has nothing to do with it! Population and number of students are what matters. Basicly if you go by population Montana has 1000 kids for every 720 North Dakota kids. I have followed this game since it began. Typically Montana throws all over us and rarely even tries to run the football. It's been working for them!

I suppose we should quit recruiting ND then. The list of Home state boys who have excelled at NDSU is long and distinguished. Some years the talent is a little thin. That's to be expected in a sparsely populated state.

Good point. 5/6A ball in Minnesota isn't very good.

Yeah, as a percentage of HS participants, MN is one of the worst states at producing DI football recruits- https://twitter.com/NCAAResearch/sta...30443629572097
