Should have sent the runner two innings ago. He would have made it easily. That one could come back to bite us.

NDSU Baseball's John Skrbec and Ben Petersen Named to All-Summit League Second Team

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State University baseball student-athletes John Skrbec and Ben Petersen were selected to the All-Summit League Second Team, the league announced at The Summit League Baseball Championship, presented by First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard, pre-tournament banquet on Tuesday, May 19, at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

Skrbec, a 6-foot-1 senior third baseman from Grand Rapids, Minn., garnered all-league accolades for the second time in his Bison career after leading NDSU in runs batted in (29), walks (29), doubles (11) and sacrifice flies (4) during the 2015 regular season. Skrbec is second in NDSU history in career walks with 81, only one walk shy of tying former Bison Chris Olson (1989-92) for most walks in program history. He ranks seventh in NDSU career games played with 177 and eighth in career games started with 161. Entering tournament play, Skrbec has started 55 straight games in the hot corner dating back to last season.

Petersen, a 6-foot-2 sophomore outfielder from Lino Lakes, Minn., was named all-league for the first time in his career after hitting .347 with a team-high 61 hits during the regular season. Petersen also led the Bison in at bats (176), runs scored (26) and total bases (78).

The Bison are scheduled to open play in The Summit League Baseball Championship, presented by First PREMIER Bank/PREMIER Bankcard, Wednesday, May 20, against top-seeded Oral Roberts at 2 p.m. at Sioux Falls Stadium.
