The vertical axis is basketball fans of a school on reddit, the horizontal axis is football fans. The closer to the line you are, the closer your fanbase is to 50/50. For example, NDSU and UNI are about the same height vertically. This means they have similar numbers of basketball fans on reddit. But NDSU is significantly further to the right horizontally. That means more NDSU football fans on reddit than UNI football fans.

To be a little more accurate: There are two applicable subgroups on reddit. One for college football and one for college basketball. The makers of the graph counted how many posters participating in each subgroup identified with a particular school. Kentucky had the most basketball fans, while Ohio State had the most football. All other schools were placed proportionally to those two.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie

It's the front page of the internet.

Flaired user would be someone identifying which team they follow in their profile. The believe the term comes from Office Space. (I know Office Space uses the term; I'm assuming reddit took it from there.)

Is it important? I clicked on it and means nothing to me.
