NDSU Track & Field Signs Standout Bahamian High Jumper Kyle Alcine

    http://www.gobison.com/news/2017/5/3...le-alcine.aspx

The less than 20 year old has cleared 7' 1 3/4" twice this year.

Gotta get him going on the long and/or the triple.......either that our have him bring some of his Bahamian buddies up here too.
WOW ! That is huge. Gotta believe that Trevor Barry here at NDSU a couple of years helped win this one. (Barry - I believe he was also from the Bahamas, he was a high jumper at Dickinson State U, came to coach at NDSU and jumped 7' 5" or so while a coach (the NDSU Schlanser track record), went to the Olympics for the Bahamas)

That would be nice, although the Bison are doing pretty well in that area now. Landon Jochim ran a 46.69 400m ... which is pretty darn good. He laid an egg at the NCAA West Regional running 48 something - don't know what happened there - but he ran some good times this year. And he is a junior.

Then the Bison had two NCAA qualifiers in the 400m for the women (Milbraith, Woods), and Jackson ran out of her head at the West Regionals by running a 51.86 split in the 4 x 400m. With these women and Andrushko, the 4 x 400m relay team is going to the NCAA finals, which is pretty impressive.

That would be great if this is the case. Barry was not a great coach but I think Lars tried to help him and he appreciated. The jumps has not been a strength for us like it has been in the past. I hear we have 2 7 footers coming next year.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

Ottertail Central's Eric VanErp wins 2017 Minnesota Class 1A state title in the triple jump

.....Two jumps later, VanErp hit a jump of 46 feet, 2½ inches. No other jumper touched 46 feet, as Pipestone Area's Tyl Woelber was in second behind Eric with a 45-10½.

VanErp will follow in his sister's footsteps and jump in college, as he's headed to North Dakota State next year.....

    yesterday's results for Eric VanErp:

    http://www.inforum.com/sports/428168...rack-and-field

OTC's VanErp finishes fourth in team standings by himself at state track and field

A day after winning a Class 1A state title in the triple jump, VanErp surpassed his seeding in the high jump, long jump and the 110-meter hurdles. He finished second in both the high jump and the long jump and seventh in the 110 hurdles.

In the long jump, VanErp hit a jump of 22 feet, 2 inches, less than an inch behind Minneapolis North's Corleone Powell, who landed a 22-2¾. VanErp cleared 6-5 in the high jump, but couldn't match Tyl Woelber, of Pipestone Area, who cleared 6-7. The North Dakota State commit ran the 110 hurdles in 15.53 seconds, 0.50 seconds faster than his seeding time of 16.03.
