OTC's VanErp finishes fourth in team standings by himself at state track and field
A day after winning a Class 1A state title in the triple jump, VanErp surpassed his seeding in the high jump, long jump and the 110-meter hurdles. He finished second in both the high jump and the long jump and seventh in the 110 hurdles.
In the long jump, VanErp hit a jump of 22 feet, 2 inches, less than an inch behind Minneapolis North's Corleone Powell, who landed a 22-2¾. VanErp cleared 6-5 in the high jump, but couldn't match Tyl Woelber, of Pipestone Area, who cleared 6-7. The
North Dakota State commit ran the 110 hurdles in 15.53 seconds, 0.50 seconds faster than his seeding time of 16.03.
