2 new offers reported. Long shots on both but Vliem seems very interested in NDSU and plans to take an unofficial in June at some point.

Were really really expanding out of our traditional footprint. Texas for a DE? Wow! (that has to be a first) Glad to see since quality D-ends and skilled players are really tough to recruit sometimes

The sheer numbers in Illinois and Florida kids is crazy. Going into Texas, Georgia, Missouri, California. ..

I like it if we can get on these kids early and get them to camp.

What I don't like is a bunch of last minute late signings from all over with no visits. Those kids never seem to pan out. It's either academics, or bad character, or its always something

SDSU gets a 2016 verbal from QB Alec Cromer (2016 NDSU interest) - 6' 5" 224 lbs - Beatrice Nebraska
Beatrice, population 12,500, is the hometown of OL Jesse Hinz.
Good thing the Bison already have a potential QB starter from Nebraska..........but good early start for the Jacks in recruiting.

It scares me a bit that we are expanding the footprint...midwest is what has been working for us with a few exceptions here and there.

Is this going to be the norm for this new coaching staff and is this footprint going to eventually get even larger while potentially passing over a midwest kid for a Florida kid?

I don't know where the assistants recruited from when at their previous schools but I do know this, they weren't winning championships at their respective schools...

Please refrain from the usual "I trust what the coaches are doing, that's why they are the coaches and we are not" statements.
We all know those championship teams were something special and last year, at times, I think we gave the new coaches too much credit, even Coach Entz said he was learning from the players, remember? I think I could've coached that team with almost the same results (I kid, I kid). But those players were not from Florida, California, Texas, etc...with a few exceptions and that's great. Sometimes skilled positions and the occasional "big gets" coming from elsewhere is a good idea. But recruiting at these places for the reason "they have a larger number of talent or greater talent" is not a good idea.

I think we will never know the true nature and potential of this staff until we see THEIR recruits on the field...

Coach K is the mastermind, of course, (and this is the reason I get some sleep at night) and I think he will keep us in the midwest footprint for the most part...that's what I AM hoping for anyway.

    Corn fed and bred...every time!

Sorry if this sounded so negative...but I'm just a crazy fan with some anxiety issues that's all.
    Haters it's all you.
