Season Opener: @ UC Davis

Alright time to discuss the season opener out in California this Friday. I don't know a ton about UC Davis but last year they were very solid and made the NIT. I believe they lost quite a bit from last years team, just like us they lost their best player Corey Hawkins. They are receiving votes in the mid-major poll (right ahead of us) and should be a tough test for us. Not much else I can add, excited for the season to tip off and would be great to start it off with a road win.

the UC Davis site says a live stream is provided of all home games by Bigwest.TV .. nothing currently showing up though

Yeah I think the Big West streams the games for free. I would check there on Friday.

Keep an eye on Garrison Goode. A 6'7" true freshman that played with Diamond Stone at Dominican High School in Milwaukee. He was a kid NDSU had an eye on. UC-Davis entered late in the process.

So excited for Bison hoops to be back, going to be a very tough first weekend of games. I think we are slightly more talented than UC Davis but flying to the western time zone and playing a road game at a place where fans will also be excited to get the season going will be a tough place to win. If we play our game being solid defensively and shoot fairly well I think we can come away with a win. Then we get to pack up and head to Illinois for a shot to upset a Big Ten team, going to be a fun weekend of hoops hopefully we can get a win or two. I did read somewhere that the game will have a free online broadcast tomorrow night through UC Davis/Big West and Sunday we will be on ESPN3.
