NDSU football in the FCS is almost like Kentucky is in basketball right now. Would Kentucky basketball fans be happy with a road split? Absolutely not. NDSU basketball is not like Kentucky basketball and never will be. Comparing the football and basketball programs at NDSU is apples to oranges. It's not fair to this basketball program that Coach Rich is leading in a very good direction. I have no problem with people being critical, but some need a reality check.

Ask Richman or any other Summit League coach and they will tell you a split on the raod is the goal, and a sweep is a bonus. Obviously they try and win every game but to think that winning on the road is easy is just a statement not based on fact. Look at the Summit League standings:

EXPANDED AP 25 USA TODAY HOME ROAD OVERALL
    Summit League W-L W-L W-L W-L PF PA
    North Dakota St 0-1 0-2 12-0 4-6 65.6 62.0
    South Dakota St 0-1 0-1 11-0 5-7 72.9 64.2
    Oral Roberts 0-1 0-1 8-1 4-9 70.0 67.9
    IPFW 0-0 0-0 9-4 4-7 69.8 67.2
    South Dakota 0-0 0-0 5-4 6-7 68.6 70.6
    Denver 0-1 0-1 9-4 1-9 63.7 64.6
    IUPUI 0-0 0-0 4-6 4-10 60.8 67.2
    Western Illinois 0-0 0-0 8-4 0-9 62.8 69.0
    Omaha 0-0 0-0 6-4 2-11 76.4 79.0

So teams have gone 72-27 at home and 30-75 on the road. So yes, winning on the road is hard. NDSU and SDSU haven't lost at home all year and NDSU has won 33 straight at home; so yes winning at home is easier.

I will be there. Gave the other ticket I got from Portlandbison to the athletic trainer at the local high school (she's a Bison alum)...

Really hard for anyone to win on the road outside of about the top 10 perennial programs in the country. Winning on the roadgets tougher during conference play as well.

Lets just take a look at the top teams according to AP

    Kentucky 23-0
Virginia 21-1 lost at home to Duke
    Gonzaga 24-1 lost on road
Duke 20-3 1 home loss 2 road losses
Wisconsin 21-2 1 home loss (to Duke) and 1 road loss
    Villanova 21-2 2 road losses
    Arizona 20-3 3 road losses
Kansas 19-4 1 home loss (to #1 Kentucky) 3 road losses
Louisville 19-4 2 home (Kentucky and Duke) 2 away losses

Out of the 20 losses only 6 of the losses have been at home, and Duke and Kentucky have accounted for 5 of those home losses given out. The other 14 losses have been on the road. Road wins are coveted and hard to come by.

So much for one game at a time, one possession at a time. If you go into the next two games thinking a split is ok you will have a hard time winning both. Just sayin.
Why put yourself in that mental state that losing any game is ok. Don't get it. There is a reason one game at a time is a cliche.

People. We are playing sub .500 Denver and SDSU not big time opponents. We have beat both already. Buck up and beat them. Court is the same size and hoop is 10'. The mentality should be to get it done not OK if we lose one? Wtf?
