    Go Bison!
Ramada Plaza hotel is a very nice hotel would be a steal at $79. We were just there on mon night to take in the water resort portion (not included in the $79 I'm sure...) The comfort Inn & Suites is right across from ramada, looked decent on the outside. Didn't notice any "special" dining places right close by but if you go up to Center street a mile or so north of I-80 it seemed like there were a lot of locally owned restaurants there.

Sioux City is the only town in between Sioux Falls and Omaha that is of any note as stated. Their Wendy's on the south side of town is decent is the only option I have tried out so not much help for eatings.

Here is one real gem of an exception.
The original Sioux City High School (aka. "The Castle On The Hill") is absolutely remarkable. Photography cannot begin to reveal it's enormous beauty. It's a deep brick red colored limestone (I think) structure that really is stunning. If any of you have an appreciation for impressive architecture, it is worth leaping off of I-29 for a couple of minutes.

This isn't my first day on the internet. I'd like personal recommendations not a link to tripadvisor, yelp, urbanspoon.

If in Omaha, I highly recommend Lo Sole Mio. Italian restaurant that definitely exceeded my expectations. And those of you who know me well understand my expectations related to Italian restaurants...

Location is right off of I80/US75 right in downtown. Easy in and out. https://www.google.com/maps/place/30...e27f1?hl=en-US

Just drove through Sioux City today. Traffic camera is set up in the southbound lane near the SD/IA border right before the speed limit drops to 55.
North Dakota State, a football team the big boys of college football should avoid like the plague, helped christen a $90 million renovation to Snyder Family Stadium — including a statue of famed Kansas State coach Bill Snyder himself — by taking a sledgehammer to the place.

I see gas is $1.79 down there... I got excited when I got it for $2.19 the other day. Another reason to hate the mid-Atlantic states!
