A fcs punter invited to the combine and its SHSU punter. i had thought ben would be getting a little more love but i guess we'll see in fall camp if he can make a team i just hope he actually gets a solid look.

Only SHSU game I watched last year was their game against Jacksonville State. They turned the ball over so much I don't remember seeing their punter, is he any good?

He is that 6'5" 215# that the NFL likes to see in punters.

Here is the way to get an invite:

Participants are determined annually by a Selection Committee. The Directors of both National and BLESTO scouting services, which combined represent twenty-five NFL teams, are joined by members of various NFL player personnel departments to form the committee. The participating NFL executives can rotate on a yearly basis, and remain anonymous. ALL eligible players are reviewed and voted on by the committee members. Each athlete receiving the necessary number of votes, by position, is then extended an invitation. My son is not happy about this. Says if Ben makes it to NFL we have to go see him. I can't say no as Ben helped the Bison win it all repeatedly.

Maybe he's not tall enough for NFL teams? Sounds dumb but maybe that's it.

I'd think a short stride and more compact kick lends itself to success.

I don't know for certain, but I'd be shocked if he wasn't there. Especially considering he was snubbed for the combine and any post season bowls.

Only reason I see to not be there, is if he has decided not to pursue the NFL.
