I still don't get why the local media refuses to use a poll other than the coaches...that's the biggest head scratcher to me.

Yeah, but even guys like Kolpack and Izzo use it in their articles, despite many of us pointing out how awful it is...

Take care of business on Saturday and may the chips fall where they will. I'm unhappy but not a whole lot I can do about it. Hopefully the committee has some common sense when it comes to ranking the teams based off of things other than a team's record. Quality wins and SOS should be a bare minimum of things to take into consideration, not to mention being #1 with a target on your back all season.
If we win next week and don't have home field throughout I will be bothered.

It probably got into the style guide for the Sports Page 40 years ago or something and the editor can't be bothered to update it.

If the Bison win in a way that's not flukish this Saturday I'd put a lot of money on them being seeded in the top 2 and I'd be confident in saying that they'd be the #1 seed if I had to predict it. The committee does not use polls at all although indirectly they may have some influence because (I'd hope that) the committee members are plugged in enough to the FCS landscape that they can't help but notice rankings.

We will be number 1 or 2 if that is what the selection committee decides. Technically the polls are an outside guideline.

So, you are obviously expecting all of the ADs on the selection committee to pay closer attention to the FCS landscape, other than just the scores, than say their coaches, the local media, or the SIDs at those schools do? Good luck with that.

Well if they are like UNI's AD then I would expect that. He said he watches a quarter of all the playoff teams each week.
