    Better late than never.

Personally i will never buy a beer because I'm usually trying to sober up but I'm happy this is happening and it will help.

I'm much more excited to see the expansion plans that is a good decade overdue. That will drive attendance more than alcohol sales. Wider concorses, more restrooms, better food options, maybe that club seating addition on the west side or the sky bar seating in tbe corners. They've even discussed hanging skybox seating

This image on the west side is what I want to see. It would add premium seats at the very top. Like expensive donor seats. It would also be awesome for concerts when you van watch the show from club seats and then go into a bar/restaurant and have your own bathrooms in the club

Mayor Mahoney listed the Fargodome expansion a major initiative during the budget meeting

He gets it. The dome contributes 60 million per year to the local economy. He knows how detrimental the lack of amenities is to NDSU fans and their experience. It may play a role in moving up too. If that happens, we will have conference commissioners doing visits. We don't want them seeing the stadium as obsolete and aging.

He also knows we have more competition for events from Sioux Falls. We've seen less concerts since they opened the Denny Sanford Premiere Center in 2014 and that competition has made Grand Forks become more competitive. He also knows we need it to keep the major events we already have

If that is really what their planning, wouldn't it make a lot more sense for NDSU to partner with this someway to include a new basketball arena? Why lock up space on campus for the next 99 years when we could think big? The SHAC is not an upper G5 level facility and never will be. It would however be a perfect home for Volleyball and Wrestling, along with continuing to house the rest of the athletic department. The facilities arms race is real and right now we are behind just about every regional school in terms of basketball facilities to include USD, SDSU, UNI, Minnesota State and Omaha. Heck, it could be argued that we are #3 in our own state behind UND and Minot State.

This is a long term on campus project and if expansion includes multiple convention centers then it only makes sense for us to be part of the discussion. The original basketball arena plan from 15 years ago didn't include convention space. Doesn't the Fargo area need an additional venue to host smaller concerts anyway? Hopefully ML isn't shortsighted here as this is a once in a generation opportunity and would have a significant impact on our conference realignment hopes. It would also basically "clear the deck" in terms of facilities so we could go all in on funding a transition to FBS.
