Fargodome officials consider adding seats/BEER for Bison games

Fargodome officials think they can add about 100 seats if they shift the wheel-chair-accessible areas to free up some bleachers. They could also add what’s known as a “party deck” to create more space in the corners, though the view would not be as good as regular seats, according to Sobolik.

To add a few thousand more seats, structural changes will be needed that could include moving the suites and press box from the east side to the west side. It’s easier to add levels on the west side than the east, which has a lobby that has not been reinforced to bear the extra weight.

T.L. Stroh Architects, the same firm that had looked at a potential Fargodome convention center, is also looking at ways to add more seats to the arena, according to Piepkorn.

Another shot fired in the battle to get the Convention Center. Good plan using Bison football as a lever.

Clearly, any costs end up in the lap of NDSU for additional seats.

Don't expect to ever see seats along the sideline unbolted and replaced with bleacher seating.

The financial return on adding thousands of seats will be atrocious.

Why not charge Elmer and Selma the market price of their 40 yard seats?

Hell, they could probably build an attached basketball arena with four times as many seats for the same price. Pipe the game in there, call it the kiddie table.
