I usually don't care, but the dumb shit that's been posted in the GameDay to Pullman thread is the lamest shit I've ever heard. NDSU has arrived.

    Fucking act like it.
When I bumped this thread it had nothing to do with NDSU. It was a legitimate question why can't they be like and Iowa or a Wisconsin? Why are they so stuck at the bottom? They've had success in many other sports.

btw I haven't read a post in the GameDay to Pullman thread, I actually don't read the Football thread very much and you were the first poster to mention NDSU.

Like North Dakota and Alabama the state of Iowa has no professional football team. While Wisconsin does have one it is at least not based in Madison. Nebraska has rabidly loyal fans who filled a 90,000 seat stadium yesterday for an 0-6 team going in. The state has no professional football team.

The football Gophers would be very well served if the state of Minnesota would punt the damn Vikings back to their billionaire owners backyard in NY.

    Yeah...that escalated quickly.
I don't care how the vote ended up. They still suck and always will.

Good post, that makes some sense. Got me thinking of how many P5 schools share a city with an NFL team.
    NE - none
Miami - the U has had as much success as any school over the past few decades. Although, it never seems like they have a ton of local support. And any time they were successful it's later discovered they cheated.
    Buffalo - none
NYJ - do we count Rutgers? I suppose they would be similar to the Gophers
Cincinnati - not P5, but I think they went to an Orange Bowl in the last 5 years
    Baltimore - none
Pittsburgh - Pitt, I'm not sure if they've been to a major bowl in the last 30 years.
    Cleveland - none
    Nashville - none
Houston - not P5, but more successful than the Gophers
    Indianapolis - none
    Jacksonville - none
    Kansas City - none
    Denver - none
LAC - USC and UCLA, definitely more success than the Gophers
    Oakland - none
    Green Bay - none
    Chicago - none
    Detroit - none
    Minnesota - Gophers
    NYG - same as NYJ
    Dallas - none
Philadelphia - lots of schools, but none that are big into FB
    Washington - none
    NO - none
    Atlanta - none
    Carolina - none
    Tampa Bay - none
    San Francisco - none
    LAR - same as LAC
    Seattle - none
Arizona - Arizona State, I think they were relevant during the Jake Plummer era. TBH I don't think their fans care about any of their major sports.

NE - Boston College is in the ACC
Nashville - Vanderbilt is in the SEC

    Maryland is in dc metro.
    Washington is in Seattle.
    Northwestern in chicagoland.
Stanford and Cal in the Bay area.
    Tcu in DFW
    Georgia tech in Atlanta.

"Many can't go there; and many would rather die."

Blaming the Vikings on the Gophers ineptitude is ridiculous.
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.

And these markets all dwarf the Twin Cities. Many more $$$ to go around.

Hardly. The twin cities is a very small market and fan dollars are spread thin with all professional sports in town. Very hard for the college teams to compete for fan interest and more importantly - their dollars.

Isn’t it curious that the last time the football Gophers were relevant in any national conversation was the year the pro team came to town? COULD be coincidence. But i bet not.

Huh, I would have thought having all those Vikings in town would help you know, row the boat.
