    Default 2014-15 Freshman

I'm just curious if anybody here has any inside track as to which Freshman are in the plans to play as true freshman and which ones are expected to redshirt. With 6 coming in I can't imagine all will play.

I thought it would be good to list the true freshmen:

    6-5 210 Brian Ishola
    6-4 190 Paul Miller
    6-2 195 Jake Showalter
    6-7 195 Trey Miller
    6-9 235 Spencer Eliason
    6-7 205 Evan Weserberg

    533 In a row

    My handcapping of freshman:

Paul Miller And Wesenberg best shots at playing
Jake Showalter & Trey Miller 50/50
Ishola & Eliason redshirts with 1 of the 50/50 guys.

For a successful NDSU season 1 of these need to step in and produce.

Based on need I think Wesenberg definitely plays this year as we just need the height and sounds like Eliason needs the year to get used to playing the post and developing his body due to his late growth spurt. The Miller/Showalter/Miller/Ishola bunch is what I'm curious about. Based on the team photos Ishola is a physical specimen, that dude looks the most ready to play at this level but I don't know if his skills are at that level. I was wondering if anyone has seen or heard that one or two of these guys more than the others have really been standouts in practice thus far.

the more we can red shirt the better.... wished Trayvon got a red shirt and the red shirt year changed Braun from a one scholarship player to Summit League MVP.

NDSU is so good at developing guys.

    Is Ishola a walk on?

I'm completely generalizing because I know nothing about him and I know walk ons don;t always mean not good enough, but we do have alot of players at his position on scholarship that would think would be better now and later?

Again I'm just generalizing, but is he a walk on because he wanted to come here and there were no other offers anywhere else or was it a different kind of situation?

Lots of slashing to the bucket, Ishola's game is 15ft and in. Being 6'5", hoping he can develop an outside jump shot to help open driving lanes for him.
