Wyoming athletic director Tom Burman
MW deputy commissioner Bret Gilliland
Ex-Utah athletic director Chris Hill
USC football executive Ed Stewart
Big Sky commissioner Tom Wistrcill
Long shots - Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne, Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens and Pac-12 deputy commissioner Jamie Zaninovich
Thank you..
I don't think that is their whole candidate pool. There are women in the mix too.
However, of that group is seems like the Big Sky commish might be your ace in the hole. He would certainly know the most about you.
Gilliland has been the deputy for years. The schools already have a relationship with him. I don't know how he effects your situation one way or the other.
Being a commissioner is a different gig than being an AD so I would be surprised if they hired one of those guys..

Bluebloods interview with ML
- says Jackson State ducked us on scheduling a series
- talks about scheduling
- discusses FBS criteria
Great, thanks for sharing. Nothing really earth shattering, but probably the most "hey we're considering FBS stuff" that I've heard him on record saying. Still pretty passive with the "we'd be negligent if we didn't think about it", or "things are moving around a lot we're just kinda sitting back and waiting to see what happens". He did only talk about FBS after going off for like 2 minutes about how great the FCS is lol.
But overall I'm happy with what I heard
These are the types of things I expect to hear when there may be some background activity going on, but no openings/offer yet. He isn't going to openly pontificate about a cascade of events giving us an MWC invite, because it's not certain. But they are aware there is chaos and that can produce openings. Maybe we end up in MAC also, hard to say.
What I heard in this interview is location/region matters to us as well. This interview was recorded before the more recent one with the Insiders where he laid out the reasons why CUSA was not the answer. That whole conference is still very shaky, and might implode entirely. Saying no to CUSA doesn't rule out other conferences.

When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.
It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.
