It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

Good article on CUSA.

I don't care what Jim says. That is not the real Ben Franklin. I'm 99% certain.
All that article does is show what a trainwreck the conference is.
They didn't go with plan a, b, or c ... they went with plan "P"
The two best schools left still want to leave. WKU wants MAC and MTSU wants AAC.
Judy Mcleod tries to spin things in the press, but everyone knows she is a disaster. They just can't dump her for PC reasons.
Just to show you how weird things are these days..Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky were both in the Sun Belt and jumped ship for what was at the time the better CUSA.
LFG boys! Today's the day. CFB games getting fired up...beautiful late August weather. No better time than RIGHT NOW!
I liked the article because everyone was candid. Judy was candid; the ADs interviewed were candid. That was refreshing.
Yeah, they're a wreck. They've been through the ringer. I still see them as a missed opportunity. An FCS school with bad geography isn't going to get into an FBS conference unless the conference is a wreck. If we ever get invited to the MWC, it will be because what's left of it is a shell of its former self. Maybe a MWC trainwreck is better than a CUSA trainwreck. But it is quite a gamble to wait any longer if we're serious about FBS (spoiler: we're not). At the end of the day, what is true is that we are still in FCS with no apparent path to get into FBS without lightening striking in several places at once, while lesser FCS schools have made the jump.
Preferring to remain in FCS rather than moving to CUSA is a defendable position. I don't agree with it, but it is an honest and defendable position. To be clear, that was the choice. We have not chosen FBS in a better conference. We have chosen to remain in FCS rather than to become an FBS school in a bottom-rung FBS conference while attempting to make it better.

The guy before her lost E Carolina, SMU, UCF, Houston, and Memphis. That’s how first through the wall female executives get hired. Some guy makes an impossible mess then they give her the reigns because they’ve got nothing left to lose. They aren’t keeping her for PC reasons they hired her she’s still there because she hasn’t finished eating the shit sandwich the last guy put on her plate.
