Well a few things.

No, the money's not just "gone". Maybe it gets reduced. If the money gets reduced, it will be reduced for all of the remaining teams just the same as it would be for us. The hypothetical gap between NDSU and the MW on budgets would remain the same.

Bottom line is...the MWC NDSU would or could eventually get into is nothing like today's MWC. Pipe dream, like the Vikings winning a SuperBowl.

You say you don't understand how we're not understanding this, but I'm quite sure it's you that doesn't understand. If we go MWC, expenses increase faster than income. We need to find a way to make up that difference. And no, it's not the extra media or OOC deals, those are already accounted for. Not saying we can't do it, but don't think for a second we'd suddenly be swimming in more cash than we know what to do with.

Will Entz get paid $1.2M more the first year we join the Mountain West? How is JMU handling Cignetti's contract? How did GSU, Appy, Coastal, etc. handle their coaches' contracts? Did their ADs instantly make $500k more each year? Absolutely not. There is a ramp up period. Same thing with scholarships.

How are future hypothetical media deals and OOC FBS games already accounted for? You're saying they're already in our budget numbers? I wonder how we pulled that one off?

I have literally said that I don't think we'd be "swimming in more cash than we know what to do with". There are concerns and things we'd need to figure out. That said there is no reason to think that we couldn't.

If you don't do that, and your coach wins a bunch of FBS games, he will be gone quickly.
The FBS market rate for winning coaches is a lot higher than FCS.
