$2.2M was the NCAA Tourney share for the entire MAC conference in 2013. Split it 12 ways and that's about $180K per school. That's a big difference. Adding the MAC per school share of the CFP money, NCAA tourney money, and TV money all together is barely over $2M per school. It's not just a coincidence that all those MAC schools are funding over half of their athletic department budget on the backs of student fees and school funds.

college football playoff money = $2-3 million per mwc/mac school
Big Dance money = $2-3 million per school
Tv contract money = $2-3 mllion per school

That jumps NDSU from $20 million budget up to $26-27 million range and right in the middle of the mwc/mac

Lakes, you are a wise tv and media savy mind. You should know its eyeballs, ears and clicks that drive tv and media revenue. considering NDSU gets a million (lets just say) a year in media payments, what conference would take you as they are dilutive to the existing revenue stream.

For example, MWC conference, your math $3 million per team. 10 teams (I know there are more, but this is for example purposes only). League gets $30 million. Add an 11th team. NDSU generates a million in media coverage. You have $31 million divided amongst 11 teams. $2.8 million on average. Good for NDSU, bad for everyone in the league.

So unless you can grow the media pot, no one will be interested. that is why Rutgers is in the Big Ten. The New York City exposure is greater than the payout to Rutgers with their share of the Big 10 deal.

So lets. Football play off money-0
    Big Dance money-0
    Media/ TV -0

    What is your funding answer?
