Gotta read the comments in the tweets to see what the rest of the country feels about the CUSA. Guessing a FBS split is also getting closer and closer.
I think I recall you stating here that Delaware was targeting the MAC but now you state that CUSA was their plan. You throw so much shit at the wall hoping to be right. CUSA has now moved in the direction of being a predominantly SE conference. The reality is that if the NDSU leadership had any foresight and vision they could have pushed for CUSA to be a more Centrally located conference. If NDSU, Missouri State, SDSU all would have thrown their hat in the CUSA ring early on I think there would have been a migration toward that geographic region of the country rather than to the SE. Instead the leadership was waiting for the perfect scenario to fall into their laps and it just isn't going to happen. They are going to have to take a risk if they want to get to the FBS. At this point it is becoming more and more likely that we are going to have to hope for a P5 split in order for us to have a chance to play against G5 competition consistently. I don't see many other options. MWC is becoming less and less likely and I don't think any other G5 conferences are going to add teams knowing that the media deals aren't there for them and it would just be splitting the revenue amongst more teams. But keep banging the drum for being patient.
Because facts are inconvenient:
Delaware is about 250 miles from the closest CUSA member. Four others are 700-800 miles away. Good chance UMass joins as a travel partner.
NDSU is over 1000 miles from the closest CUSA and it gets a lot worse from there.
NDSU's media deal is already more than twice CUSA's. Delaware gets to leave that cesspool that FloSports calls streaming.
Our best chance is to get the 4 Dakotas together as the northern pod when the WAC jumps in roughly 5 years. Despite the hate some have for that, it is realistic.
