I have the honor to be Your Obedient Servant - B.Aud
We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
According to Sagarin, #36 Fresno St, #46 Air Force, #52 Boise St are better teams.
We wouldn't necessarily walk in and be the best team day 1, it would take work.
The other thing to realize is both the AAC and SBC were ranked higher last year, both by Sagarin, and the CFP rankings.
Winning the MWC would not guarantee a CFP bid, not even close. There would be a lot of work, and a bit of luck needed.
We would need to be content with bowl games for a while likely. I also think we would need to up our game more than some realize. The top G5's have athletic budgets in the $50m+ range. We would need to close that gap, and conference payout won't do it.
You could maybe say that for our 2013, 2018, 2019 and MAYBE 2021 teams. Last year’s team was not up to the standard and would’ve lost multiple games in the MW for sure.
Although for what it’s worth SDSU has only finished a season ahead of NDSU in Sagarin once since 2010, most times it wasnt even really close. Not that that’s the end-all be-all, but it’s also not like the loss of SDSU is going to cause some irreparable drop in football quality. Unless the MW were to try to replace with NMSU or UTEP.
The biggest problem for the MW losing SDSU is the basketball, recruiting and TV access to so cal.

This makes me wonder why you would want to have anything to do with the MW. You don't respect MW football (you can't think of one football team that could beat you) If the MW is full of stiffs as you suggest, they won't be a springboard for you to reach bigger and greater heights.
Why exactly would the MW want to add a school who finds your future conference mates beneath you.?
I believe participants who make the CFP earn 6 million bucks for their conference. That would be split 12 ways. 500 grand is nothing to sneeze at, but the MW earned 16 million bucks in this past NCAA tourney. Add that to all the dough they have earned over the last 5 years in the tourney. That is far more lucrative than a once decade trip to the CFP.
The MW is a basketball conference that plays football. I know you want FBS and that is all well and good but you have exactly the opposite philosophy. Football, football, football. What is in it for the MW and what is in it for you?
I have no idea what will happen. You may be invited to the MW this week, in 2 years, or never. Who knows? I really don't understand the appeal this has for you. I am not sure it makes sense for anybody.
