If the PAC gets raided and then guts the MWC, this would be the most likely scenario for NDSU to get a chance at FBS. This scenario would give many MVFC and Big Sky teams their only chance to get to the FBS. Biggest question is if any schools are going to really be desired by the Big 10 or Big 12. The payout for the PAC teams willing to move has to be much bigger for them to leave the PAC and their AQ for BB and FB. Why go into another massive conference with a lesser chance to get an AQ when you can compete with only 8-10 teams? I would take less teams if the money is the same
With all the movement and rumors, is there ever a day coming where the Universities sit down for a meeting and reorganize college football? You hear the rumors where big time football will end up as 60ish teams in two leagues (lets call them the Big 10 and SEC). Is there a point that a body gets together and says "lets just reorganize the whole thing and get it over with?"

UND and the rest of the North Central Conference, except for SDSU said the same thing when we brought up moving up to FCS. Sometimes people can't accept that you need to jump at the chance to move up when it comes along, even if it's not exactly what you want.
It's just mind boggling how the same people (Not trying to single you out, just a general observation) can always be against any idea of moving up.

The NCAA transformational committee is currently in session and have talked about all kinds of stuff. The problem is any change has to pass a vote of the membership. P5 don't want to increase subsidizes to lower programs, G5 don't want to lose their perceived status, basketball schools don't want to change anything other than maybe expand the tourney or increase subsidizes. Lots of directions to pull and I don't have high hopes of anything meaningful. Unless the P5 decide it's worth the chaos to make a full break from the NCAA and become semi-pro leagues.

When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.
It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.

Look at the delta in money that USC and UCLA are getting for going to the B10. Then consider that the PAC just lost their two biggest cash cows and are trying to renegotiate their media deal right now. And then on top of that the B12 just moved up their media rights negotiations so they could dunk on the PAC and convince schools to jump ship. Everyone in the PAC is testing the waters because of it.
People in charge of $100M athletic budgets are not making decisions based on automatic qualifiers.
Define “reorganize”. If you mean they get every NCAA school president in a room and start picking/voting/drafting which schools go where - never in a million years. If you mean they select some committee to do that - again, never in a million years.
If you mean get a committee together to draw some arbitrary lines in the sand to effectively exclude schools from P5 and G5 (attendance or budgetary minimums, for instance) then maybe…
