Their only issue is location. It's far away and perceived even further. If you are used to other markets being an hour or two away and you are 3 hours from any other market and that's only 1, it's isolated. From Indy, I'm within 2-3 hours of Cincinnati, Columbus, Louisville, Chicago, and probably 10 markets the size of Fargo. Go to 4 and you add in Detroit, Cleveland, Nashville, St. Louis.

That's the tough reality.
We obviously need to leverage the msp market to be financially attractive.

I thought NDSU and SDSU would make an attractive pair for the MAC, but I guess not.

I guess this is a wake up call for me as to how truly undesirable NDSU and the Fargo market is.

It's one of the things I love about living here. Do close to so many other cities. I can drive to Chicago and back in the same day to see a Cubs game. And for perspective, I'm closer to Orlando than Minot. And we are on the western edge of the MAC (only Northern Illinois is west of us). I still think the MAC could eventually consider the xDSUs. Both schools would be competitive in the conference.

You're 800 miles to Boston or Orlando; it's 750 miles Fargo to Indy.

I still say the solution is build the Western answer to the MAC (with parts from Summit and BSC).
