They've played FCS schools regularly in the past. Mercer in 2021 and 2017, Western Carolina in 2019, the Citadel in 2018....

That sure would be a fun game, just to see how we measure up.
The gist of the article though is they are looking to schedule an easy W to offset more SEC games.
The odds are near zero they ever play NDSU as either an FCS or FBS team.

MWC.... Let's face facts, NDSU has been dominant for 10 years, fanbase better than any MWC team outside of Boise State... the MWC just doesn't want lil ol north dakota st school coming in and being top dog day 1.

I'm with Chapo on this one. Every G5 conference knows that NDSU will be one of the top teams (if not the top team) and they don't want to be shown up by a "D-II/JV" team.
