There certainly seems to be an air of finality to these rumors. There will be the adult table and the kids table and I would guess it will be very hard to move between the two of them after whatever split happens.

This is my biggest fear, but I'm going to give ML and DC the benefit of the doubt. I sincerely hope I am not wrong

My gut tells me that the number of current FCS teams that end up at the adult table will be less than 5

Not that it matters, but DP et al refer to FCS as D2, which is what it will become effectively after things shake out

I think he means there is going to be "P2" and "afterthought" as the two categories into which schools get sorted by the national media. There will still be subdivisions at the D1 level. None of it will matter to Disney, Fox, CBS or NBC.
