As long as there are 2 D1 FB teams in ND, NDSU moving up is not an option, so make the best/most of it. I would say we’re doing an excellent job in that regard.

If we concentrated on the really important stuff in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles"
When you play football, you gotta like the taste of blood, And 50 percent of the time, it's your blood.
It is characteristic of the unlearned that they are forever proposing something which is old, and because it has recently come to their own attention, supposing it to be new.
"The best way to get the right answer on the internet is not to ask a question; it's to post the wrong answer."
where is that quote. show the link, else its poppycock.
from Wisc HS rivals page:
"CMU also fulfills my dream of playing tight end at the highest possible level, the FBS"
sorry, but a large percentage of HS kids will take FBS over fcs 95% of the time.

We all live in stories... It seems to me that a definition of any living vibrant society is that you constantly question those stories... The argument itself is freedom. It's not that you come to a conclusion about it. Through that argument you change your mind sometimes... That's how societies grow. When you can't retell for yourself the stories of your life then you live in a prison... Somebody else controls the story. - S. Rushdie
well once again. a journalist in Fargo/ndsu media doesn't have the guts to force some hard hitting questions on the admin about FBS
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
Maybe its a non issue for the university at this time. Where does the money come from? Where does the conference come from?
As for money. Things are way different locally and regionally with discretionary income floating around. So be it at the donor level or the state level. The ability to raise money will be difficult to say the least.
Conference. Where are you going to play? Although the power conference(s) have seemed to calm down, there still exists the opportunity that more change is in the future. Which if NDSU were in the FBS and the new guy, they could be left out.
Maybe current spot is working. Look at the attention the school gets whether from the FCS football, making the big dance in basketball, softball and track and field success. Maybe that means the needs of the university as they try to grow other programs in addition to the football program.
Sometimes its okay to be the big fish in the pond you are.
