Kansas State's Walk-on Program

A buddy sent this article to me and I have to say that what Bill Snyder has done with the walk on program at Kansas State is unbelievable. The program currently has 58 kids that came to the program as walk ons. 58! Got a love kids coming in at the bottom and working their way into the lineup!

Cool article. Question.. How does transfers work for walkons? A few players mentioned in the article walked on in other programs, then transferred to Kansas St. Since they are not on scholarship, do they have to sit a year like everyone else?

I was under the impression that if you are a walk-on and not currently under scholarship you are free to transfer. I have no link to back that up.
