We need a roof to keep pace with the Flagship University in Gran_ Forks.

One of the worst decisions NDSU ever made was dropping the petroleum engineering program. These big oil donations are going to flow to UND if anything in the future.

Without a major Ralph type donation, a 35k indoor stadium is not a reality anywhere in the future. Fargo has no need for it and will not vote for it. The state of ND does not allow our colleges to bond for stadiums being built, unless I am unaware of something.

A 35k outdoor stadium is not too terribly expensive. It is realistically possible if fundraising were to start today and continue for a decade. Outdoor stadiums allow for future expansion. Indoor does not.

A 35k stadium would be built for anticipation of an FBS move, correct? Games are done in November at the FBS level. November average temp in Fargo is 37 degrees. If you can not handle 37 degrees you are not a true football fan.
There will be a playoff system for the non Big 5 Conference teams. Bank on it. And 37 degrees with a 20 mph wind is the reality. Not gonna happen.

35k seems to be the norm for pretty much every FBS team outside of the Power 5 conference teams so expecting over 35k is a big stretch. Nothing wrong with a packed 35k seat stadium.

The Green and The Gold Collective is excited to announce our #DriveToFive membership campaign. The goal of this campaign is to get to 500 monthly members. Reaching this goal will help us provide financial support to NDSU student athletes, including every returning member of the football team that saw action on the field last year!

Any donation for a stadium by business is an investment with an expected return, and never done out of the goodness of their hearts. In the case of Big Oil, the return could be qualified graduates, geology research, political goodwill, and so on. In order to tap such funds, NDSU has to start making a case that the oil business will see a benefit in these areas if they donate. Otherwise, Big Oil has no reservations about taking the resources from the state and leaving nothing in return.

The other avenue for donation is legacy/ego by individuals with a connection to NDSU. Are there any such people with a net worth approaching $1B?

Again. No bonding for a stadium. No need for an indoor stadium with publicly funded tax revenue. No huge donors that could fork out the money for an indoor stadium.

It just isn't a reality at this point unless you are talking an outdoor stadium.

Would you go to a house in ND that does not have a roof during the winter ?

with NDSU in Mountain West, there will be ZERO games after November 20th at Home. could even petition league to finish games on the road, so november 13-15th??

Build a 40,000 seat outdoor stadium like Tulane or Wyoming for $60-70million. Boom Done.
NDSU TO FBS. HAVEN'T WE WON ENOUGH?
