We sometimes call it turf because that is what the grounds crew call it. Yes, it is grass that is very well drained.

At least they aren't expecting a hard freeze right after laying down sod with brown grass painted green.

It's OK to not be OK.

The rain reminds me of the famous Mud Bowl game with Pittsburgh State. One of the best games I've ever seen. Playoffs just added to it. Even though I know who wins I still get nervous watching the end. Watch it it will kill some time and give you a Bison fix for a few days

Isn't turf actually grass? Hence the term "artificial turf"?

Probably one of those things where people started abbreviating and calling artificial turf, just "turf".

Some sportswriter once asked a LA Dodgers pitcher "what do you prefer, natural grass or artificial grass?"

The pitcher thinks for a second and answers "I don't know.................... I've never tried to smoke the artificial stuff"

This is a hybrid. This is a cross, ah, of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on this stuff.
