Join the Green and the Gold Collective to take Bison football to the next level. Starts at $10 a month
The Green and The Gold Collective is excited to announce our #DriveToFive membership campaign. The goal of this campaign is to get to 500 monthly members. Reaching this goal will help us provide financial support to NDSU student athletes, including every returning member of the football team that saw action on the field last year!

I disagree completely. Of course his ACL was based on a risk he took against defenders. Tom Brady, Peyton Manning don't take that risk, and lasted 15+ years in the league. Not sure Aaron Rodgers takes that risk, especially on a 1st and goal during a regular season game. Elway did it, but in a Super Bowl. Wentz's own teammate was caught on camera during the ACL play saying "He's got to stop doing that", before he even knew there was an injury.
I'm not saying Carson should change what he does, but if Carson plays the same way on his return, his career probably lasts less than 10 years. His career may be excellent, but it will definitely be a shorter lived career than the all time greats.
is it safe to ask yet about cw old wrist injury?
I was kind of in the camp the injury just kind of happens and is a part of football. But I do agree with you, there are situations where that type of risk isn't needed. 1st and goal isn't one of them, throw it away and you have two more shots at the end zone. If you watch the replay he had a window to the end zone but it closed really fast.
Manning, Brady, both sit down in the pocket and move well in space as to create time and throwing lanes. Wentz has this same knack and ability, however, he better have learned his lesson as it caught up to him in the end. Every QB gets injured, even playing smart. However, your days are numbered if you think you can run into defenders. Those two tacklers that wrecked wentz knee's targeted his knee's as was clear in the replay. Nothing dirty at all but they took the shot where they did as the TD was a given but the outcome was on them as defenders.

I think many experts have said the injury to Carson's knee was not caused by defender impact during the dive into the end zone. Rather the knee was likely damaged previously and then the tear completed as a result of the dive. On the football field Carson often makes all sorts of moves that defy what is thought possible with a tall QB frame. My point is those moves have resulted in damage to his body not impact with a defender. The only injury directly caused by a defender was the cracked rib in 2016 preseason action. Carson exposed his ribs when he waited until the last second to throw. I think Carson is tough enough to take a few knocks on the field. And yes he should try to avoid them when possible, but I don't think Wentz is as frail as Brady or Manning, etc.
