Yeah... "average at best"? Wasn't that what he said? Anyone have that quote handy?

But Wentz just threw to receivers running wide open through JV defenses so there is no way he can compete in the NFL. /purplefont
It's OK to not be OK.

You nailed it. The talking heads are already doing the same thing they do to NDSU when they beat an FBS school. Luck, overlooked, other team was horrible, etc.

Mike Ditka on the Philly Fanatic radio station right now talking up Carson and how the "program he came from" does a great job to challenge smart kids to be smart football players.

Since Carson is now my favorite NFL QB, here's how his first start compares to my previous favorite QB's first starts:

John Elway (23 years old, 68 days): 1/8 for 14 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT and a 0.0 passer rating. 0 rushing yards. http://www.pro-football-reference.co.../gamelog/1983/ Things would get better for John.

Tim Tebow (23 years old, 127 days): 8/16 for 138 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT and a 100.5 passer rating. 78 rushing yards on 8 attempts. http://www.pro-football-reference.co.../gamelog/2010/ Glad what he did for the franchise in that he brought excitement and hope back to Denver. Unfortunately, between having dyslexia and having a throwing motion that looked like a baseball pitcher winding up from the stretch, he was not meant to be a NFL QB. "Maybe" he'll find success in baseball.

Peyton Manning (22 years old, 166 days): 21/37 for 302 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT and a 58.6 passer rating. 0 rushing yards. http://www.pro-football-reference.co.../gamelog/1998/ Where Tebow brought hope, Manning brought confidence. Glad he got to ride out into the sunset with a championship, much like his boss did.

Carson Wentz (23 years old, 256 days): 22/37 for 278 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT and a 101.0 passer rating. 1 rushing yard on 2 attempts. http://www.pro-football-reference.co.../gamelog/2016/ I predict a great career, and if the Eagles draft smart (which they showed they can since they took Wentz already) and spend wisely on free agency, they'll win championships.
    Hail the BISON!!!

Guy should have checked his ego and converted to TE. He could have continued an NFL career that way. He would have never made it in the CFL with the arm he had. It's a pass heavy league with a larger field and most of the guys up there have cannons for an arm but have other things holding them back from being NFL quality. I think he knew that and his ego wouldn't allow himself to go up there.

The baseball thing is a smart move publicity wise. He got a big endorsement just because he was being talked about for attempting it. I think it is kind of disrespectful for the guys that actually are young and looking for the legit opportunity to fulfill their lifelong dream. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets beamed a couple times.
The fella that watches the CFL
