So every player who's team drafts/signs a FA player at his position should be upset?

I get what you're saying. I've never been a QB, an NFL football player, heck I've never even played organized football. But I just can't help but think of how I would respond to a situation like this, especially publicly like you mentioned. And if it's Carson, I would love to be the guy in the film room, on the field, and in the locker room being a mentor and leader to Carson. I'd relish the opportunity knowing if I don't go out and compete and get better with the team we have, regardless of who we draft or sign, that I'm gonna lose my job. Accept the challenge, be a professional, and get after it.

Yeah, because that's what's happening here.

Are you that clueless? The whole point of a signing bonus is to entice you to sign a contract where you agree to do a job for your employer.

So, less than a month after signing the contract and getting paid, he now says he doesn't want to do the job? Give the money back or sit on the sideline and watch the professionals play.

The Eagles should call his bluff. Let him sit. Only trade him if another team takes his full contract.

I think most of us agree that it's not hard to see why he isn't happy about the move. However, most of us are saying show up and do your job.

Correct. If Bradford was so concerned about competing, he should have demanded such terms in the agreement he was about to sign.

This just gets us back to the stupid money Philly is paying for 3 QBs not named Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or Drew Brees.

What made him think they wouldn't be trying to get another QB? He only got a 2 year contract, did he really believe the team wasn't going to try to get somebody else?

Experience with the playbook and verbiage. Experience with teammates strength and weaknesses. Familiarity with the organization and city. There is no reason he should not be able to hold his starting job against a college qb. Unless that college qb is actually just more talented.

On top of it all, he just received a fat, guaranteed contract and has been assured by coaches and management that he is the starting qb. Sometimes in life, you need to just shut up and do your job. Unfortunately for Bradford, he hasn't figured that out.
He really doesn't have every advantage. They didn't sell the farm to have Sam Bradford as their quarterback. They sold it to have Carson Wentz/Jared Goff as their quarterback. Who do you think will be given the benefit of the doubt?

    Fair point.

They just made his job pretty much impossible. I think its fair to assume he had no idea they were going to trade up to #2 to get his replacement.

I'm with audit...I'm not talking about whether or not he should be quiet and do his job. I think he should do his job. I do not blame him for feeling blindsided and mad. Those picks could have been used to get some help in other parts of the team...instead it is all going to draft his replacement.

NDSU championship game on ESPNU right now. I'm assuming to showcase Carson.
