I was ripped by some a few months ago when I made the comp, but I'll continue to stand by it. Ben has always been an extend the play guy. He ran it more often when he was younger, but he's more often than not looking to throw than run. I see Carson as the same type of pro. Keep your eyes down the field and keep the play alive run if its wide open and you see nothing better. RG3 is a good example of the opposite. When he leaves the pocket he's looking for real estate not wide receivers.
Quarterbacks are running much more now it seems. A young Ben would probably run a fair bit more nowadays.

Watching Goff vs Wentz and thinking...
1 is Goff entering the draft early to get away from possible injury, given the lack of protection he's gotten?
2 how will Goff command a huddle of veterans, given his age and never having called his own plays?
3 isn't Carson's age a plus in working the huddle?
I would have thought the same thing, but there is very little evidence to back this up.
Roethlisberger ran for 246 yards in 3 years at Miami, Wentz ran for more than that last season and 600+ his junior year.
NFL stats show he did run more when he was younger, but I see Wentz getting a lot more yards on the ground.

Goff's entering the draft because he's a top 2 QB. He'll get a lot of guaranteed money. Way too many college players are coming out early, IMO, but Goff is making the right move given his high draft stock. Like Saban says, if you're a 1st round prospect you go. 2nd round is a little more of a case by case basis. If you're 3rd round or worse you should stay and try to better yourself in college. Hackenberg would have been a good candidate to stay and work on his game. Unfortunately the offense he's running at PSU isn't helping him work on the things he should. Ideally graduating and transferring to Stanford or Michigan State would be the best route for Christian, IMO.
Goff's Career Game Highs
Rushes: 10 (at UCLA, 2015)
Rushing Yards: 31 (vs. Arizona State, 2015)
Rushing TDs: 1 (vs. FCS Portland State, 2013) A 1 yard run. Portland State lost 30-37 but gained 553 yards against Cal!
Portland State was 6-6 that year (2013)
Long Rush: 20 (vs. Arizona State, 2015)
Career Rushing (while at Cal) 170 rushes for a NEGATIVE 144 yards. (sack yardage included of course)
So, the teams that really doing some serious homework will take note of these things.
There is no way that LA is going to take a quarterback that is this one-dimensional with the first pick.
Some of these self proclaimed experts that are making a big deal out of his passing numbers are absolute idiots if they don't talk about the LACK of impressive rushing stats.
I have never seen a quarterback propped up as much as Goff has...........that has ground numbers like this.
