He really needs to work on speaking. Typical answer: Yeah, ummm, a few words, ahhh, ummm, ahhhh.
Listening to him speak is a insult to ears.

That's why you don't build it for just football. The percentage of events at the Fargodome involving football is pretty minor. Most NFL stadiums are used for much more than football. That's why it makes sense for someone other than the team to build them. Lucas Oil Stadium probably has 100 events during the year and only 10% of them are the Colts. If NDSU built a new indoor stadium and the Fargodome still existed would there be enough events to keep them both busy?
Lakes said "semi enclosed " which basically means closed 8 months out of the year.
I think there are plenty of events out there but if there were 2 indoor stadiums, it would dilute everything and both would run into the red. Current the Fargodome runs in the black.
If NDSU had an outdoor stadium, it could only do events from June to September and would lose insane amounts of money.
Fargo doesnt need another giant arena. It needs a medium sized arena and that's something the private sector can handle.
NDSU hasnt even figured out how to use the SHAC for concerts, not sure how they would handle a giant arena.

Any new stadium will almost certainly run in the red with or without tearing down the Fargodome unless it is completely funded up front. Fargo isn't going to chip in, the Fargodome fits their needs perfectly. NDSU isn't going to come up with $250+ million. These visions of a new stadium are a pipe dream. I think NDSU only sold out 1 or 2 games all season last year, yet people act as if they could sell twice as many tickets.
The only thing they need to do to maintain competitiveness is add suites and club seating that they get a share of the revenue from.
