Thread: Carson Wentz

I guess now we're back to a "Division two school"....

"Selected number two overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, Carson Wentz proved himself as both the current and future quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Throwing for a NFL rookie record 379 completions this season to set the record, Wentz proved that he has the raw ability to be an NFL quarterback, something many questioned thanks to his college days at a Division two school."

Thank you for your posts continually denigrating other people's thought and opinions without adding anything constructive yourself. It's nice to be able to count on you to troll, mock and contradict others in every thread you participate in. Keep up the good work.

It happened all last year with references to Carson (and before with the titles). We should be used to it by now.
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Peyton threw the ball 575 times his rookie year. Carson threw it 607 times this year. Only two more passes per game. Hasn't evolved that much.

As a rookie Peyton Manning had the luxury of handing the ball off to a future ball of fame running back, Marshall Faulk (who is also arguably the greatest pass catching running back of all time) and had a consistent outside threat in future hall of fame receiver Marvin Harrison.

Carson's most consistent running back was 4'11" Daren Sproles and best outside receiver was Jordan Matthews who once again was near the top of the league in drops.

Peyton Manning had 3,739 yards passing and threw 28 picks as a rookie. Finished the year with a 71.2 QB rating.

Carson Wentz had 3,782 yards passing and threw 14 picks as a rookie. Finished the year with a 79.3 QB rating.

Throwing the ball nearly the same amount of times per game and having substantially less talent surrounding him, a kid from NDSU just had a statistically superior season than arguably the greatest QB of all time.

    Suck a nut.

Plus Peyton was a four year started at an SEC school, versus 20 or so starts for CW.

Nope just had the time to point out you are wrong in dismissing my claim that Carson had a better rookie year than Peyton Manning.

    Have a nice day.

My list of QB's that you would play ahead of Carson (in no particular order):

    Brady
    Manning
    Stafford
    Rodgers
    Flacco
    Rothlisberger
    Ryan
    Newton
    Brees
    Luck
    Carr
    Wilson

So, yah, arguably in the top half already, although I'd put these other QB's at least on par with Carson, so arguably outside the top half just yet too:

Dalton (when he manages to get in to the playoffs, he can't win)
    Winston
    Marriota
Palmer (age keeps him off the top list)
Smith (I could be convinced he belongs in the upper list)
    Prescott
    Bridgewater/Bradford
