I see it differently. They have signed some very good players, if they play well they have the first opportunity to sign them to long term contracts, if they sign as FA elsewhere the Eagles will still get compensatory picks for them, if they don't play well they aren't tied into them long term allowing to move on and not tied to long term mistakes.
