Looks like CJ may have a chance to be on the roster again this year.

    Eagles OTA observations

    C.J. SMITH

Second-year cornerback C.J. Smith has made his way up the depth chart.

An undrafted rookie last year, Smith was working with the second-team defense on Tuesday. If either Jalen Mills or Patrick Robinson were to go down, at this point it looks like it would be Smith who would step in and start for the Eagles.

Smith had a very strong showing in training camp last year and secondary coach Cory Undlin is very high on him. It looks like a spot on the 53-man roster will be his to lose.

That is great news to hear.

Apparently the coaches weren't too happy that Wentz went out to California to train with the QB gurus...

    Jaws likes what he sees.

"You look at Carson," Eagles Hall of Fame quarterback Ron Jaworski said after an Organized Team Activity practice at the NovaCare Complex, "and you see growth. I watched every throw today. I see a quarterback who has made improvements in his delivery, in his quick-twitch mechanics, in his footwork.

Here's the link. If you read the comments, most seem to think the reporter is a hack and is reading way too much into the coaches' comments.

Thanks Bri-dog. Yeah I smelled a little bullshit. It seemed like he was trying to slam Wentz. He didn't do anything but want to better himself.
