Awesome. Thanks.
GO BISON!!!!!!!!!!!!
Choke city on what should have been a TD pass.
Yeah timing was obviously off when he turns late and isn't looking for the ball. It's called a rookie to rookie.
Otherwise not too bad. 27-43, 243 yards, 2 TDs and no picks.
Overall not too bad of a season. All new coaching staff. All new system and using players who were Chip Kelly guys.
Gotta remember the Eagles went 7-9 last year in Kelly's 3rd year. Eagles matched that
Team lost 6 games by 1 score or less. If you win even 2 of them it's probably a playoff season. Team lost its LT and RT and was down to its 4th string. Team lead the NFL in pre snap penalties and was near the top in drops.
Kid took his lumps but they didn't baby feed him. Set record for attempts by a rookie. 16 TDs. 14 picks. QB rating of 80. Threw in a couple of rushing TDs. That's pretty similar to many QBs first year as a starter. Almost threw for 4000 yards with hardly a running game.
Like you pointed out earlier.. Redzone has been his worst area. Once he figures that out.. Look out!

John Elway's stats his first two years:
1983 259 attempts, 123 completions, 1,663 yards, 7 TDs, 14 interceptions
1984 380 attempts, 214 completions, 2,598 yards 18 TDs, 15 interceptions
Found it really interesting to compare Carson's season to Sam Bradford's 2010 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year season, very similar:
16' Wentz: 16 GS, 7-9 W/L, 379 Comp, 62.4%, 3,782 Yds, 16 TD 14 Int 150 RuYds 2 TD
10' Bradford: 16 GS, 7-9 W/L, 354 Comp, 60.0%, 3,512 Yds, 18 TD 15 Int 63 Ruyds 1TD
Hopefully Carson has a better 2nd year than Bradford:
2016 Wentz: 16 GS, 7-9 W/L, 379 Comp, 62.4%, 3,782 Yds, 16 TD 14 Int 150 RuYds 2 TD
2011 Bradford: 10 GS, 1-9 W/L, 191 Comp, 53.5%, 2,164 Yds, 6 TD, 6 Int, 26 RuYds, 0 TD
Kind of interesting that CW's NFL completion percentage is almost the same as at it was at NDSU (not as many dropped balls at NDSU though.) Very similar rate of interceptions too.
On the other hand, TDs per attempt are way down. His yards per attempts are also down from 8.4 to 6.5. A lot of that has to do with lack of WR production so hopefully they get on the same page or turn the page on some of those WRs. Philadelphia's offense scheme/playcalling vs NDSU's also contributes to low numbers.
Andrew Luck's rookie season...339 comp, 54.1%, 4,374 yds, 23 TD, 18 Int
NDSU to the FBS always. In all ways.
Eagles had the toughest schedule in the league this year and that schedule doesn't get any easier next year. I think 7-9 is a fairly successful year considering a rookie QB and rookie head coach at the helm. Throw in the injuries and the suspension of Johnson and 7 wins isn't to shabby. I'm proud as heck of that nephew of mine and Philly fans can be rest assured he will work harder than anybody this off season to get better.
Fly Eagles Fly!!!!
With even average receivers, Carson has 4,000 yards passing and 23-25 TD passes. I think he had 5 dropped in the end zone this year and at least two from memory which were long TD's called back for a dumb penalty on the receiver (I think DGB and Agholar both had offsides penalties negating huge TD's. The Eagles likely end up in the playoffs as a 10-6 team and you don't hear a thing about mechanics.
All in all an excellent year by Carson. The jump from FCS football to the NFL is monumental. To work with the talent he had and end up with a fine rookie season tells me he had big things ahead of him. If the Eagles can get him a skilled receiver and a reliable running back, I think he will be a top 10 QB next year.
