That's a shame. It would have been so nice for him to get a little more preseason play time! But complete healing is more important.

I can tell you from recent experience that broken ribs take awhile to heal. No point in pushing anything because if not completely healed, they are easy to injure again. They usually take at least 6-8 weeks, but every break and every person is different.

Broke a few myself back in my football playing days. I was out for 4 weeks. No sense in playing Carson in a meaningless game although he was really hoping to play.
