As much as we love the Bison and enjoy all the things that the dome offers, there are still people out there that think the dome was a waste of money. ( they will even complain after going to a concert there- go figure). The city needs a city hall. Even that was a tough sell.

Ok a $26 million city hall?

$6 million would've been enough. Ok. Rant over carry on wasting money so these city clerks have nice digs

Construction labor costs are about to blow up in the FM area. $3 million in additional costs to City Hall were due to increased labor costs.

Wanna guess how much additional labor cost would be added to a new stadium build?

There's a huge difference between what THEsocalledfan just said and what you say. His post is clear, concise and not filled with assumptions. Example.

THEsocalledfan: "...pull in funding from multiple parties with a stake in the stadium."

El Chapo: (paraphrasing) "Scheels will put in $10million. Sanford will put in at least $10 million. Some unnamed future oil baron $50 million. And then will will easily get 20,000 people to donate at least $2,000 for the next 20 years. There's our funding. PUMP IT UP! Motor City Bowl all the way!"

    Do you see the difference?
    Don't matter. FIVE-PEAT!

If there is ever a disconnect between what someone SAYS and what they DO, rely on the latter. Should be a good indicator of how serious Fargo is about expanding the Fargodome to seat more for football.

$80 million??! Try $120 million is what the bids came in at. They've rejected all bids and are now going back and redesigning it. Not sure they're going to find $40 million though.

By time this city hall gets designed and built it is likely to push $30 million threshold, as I've yet to see a "estimate" by architect come in over what the bids are (almost always well under), especially recently as labor costs are going up. Companies in Fargo have a hard time keeping a skilled workforce because they can do construction there is someone out west willing to pay them more than what they're making here.

And with 2 large healthcare facility projects, BSA, NDSU STEM, etc there are a lot of projects out already stretching the workforce beyond it's limits.

Dave PoopKorn was on kfgo yesterday and once again said "no beer in the fargo dome, blah blah"

but was asked about expanding the dome since people cant get NDSU tickets and its limiting NDSU from going FBS:

His reply was " we have talked expansion, but with the dome having an event weekly, it'd be impossible to shut down the dome in order to expand " < REALLY???

then a text came in saying why doesn't ndsu just do it on their own if the city of fargo refuses to help

PoopKorn replied with a snicker " im pretty sure NDSU would be coming to the city of fargo for funding if that was to happen "

what arrogance, Please will someone with some stones at NDSU put forth a proposal to build & raise $120 million for 45,000 outdoor semi enclosed stadium ... aka "old dallas stadium" PLEASE!

if Kilbourne (Burgum) RDO & TMI can put up $100 Million for this downtown plaza by US Bank in the fargo forum today.

then surely they could find $50 Million to help with a new NDSU Stadium!

Build it & they will come. 4 major sponsors, $25 million each, they each get a corner plaza in stadium.
    RDO, Scheels, Sanford, Butler
    NDSU raises $100 million

Voila $200 million outdoor semi-enclosed stadium (think old dallas stadium) with 42,000 seats on campus where practice fields are or west or south even? NDSU gets all the revenue!!
