I really hope that NDSU does well, and when it does someone goes back and brings forward all your
comments that show you had no faith in the new coaching staff and their philosophies.

That's fine but your biggest argument for Minnesota athletes needing to be on scholly is that the twin cities is SUCH a basketball hotbed and I can't even think of the best NDSU basketball player from the twin cities area. Is it Freddy Coleman?

    LA- Illinois
    Marshall- Arlington, MN
    Tveidt- SD
    Winks- Morris, MN
    Woody- Albert Lea, MN
    Tray- Iowa
    Taylor- Oregon
    Mike Nelson- Wisco
    Moorms- ND
    KB- Illinois
    Carlin- Wisco

Seriously the best D1 basketball player in NDSU history from the twin cities might be Freddy.

Andre Smith would be the best NDSU player from the Twin Cities.

OK I agree and if that's true that's not a good sign and basically proves my point. I appreciate everything that Andre did for the program but he was only here for 2 seasons after going the JUCO route.

where does it say that anywhere? im simply asking and wondering why we dont have any Minnesota kids on the squad and we've been missing out on some recently. geez chill out.

MINNESOTA is a HOT BED which includes the twin cities.

    Woody
    Andre
    Marshall

are top 3 id say with Taylor B & Winkelman (Minnesota)

    4 of 5 minnesotans

The question I'd ask isn't which NDSU players from the Twin Cities--or Minnesota in general--were good, but which players from Minnesota NDSU realistically could have gotten and didn't who ended up being good (particularly guys who ended up being noticeably better than guys on NDSU's roster who weren't Minnesotans).

What I mean is, looking at comparable teams (Summit League teams, maybe some of the UNI-type schools, etc.), which teams had Minnesota guys on their rosters that could have potentially played for NDSU instead? If it seems like you've missed out on the recruiting hot bed that is the state of Minnesota, it should be fairly easy to identify key players that could have been Bison but ended up going to USD, SDSU (Nate Wolters probably being a fairly obvious one when it comes to SDSU), UNO, UNI, UW-Green Bay (if any), etc.

I'm not particularly familiar with Summit League teams and I'm too lazy to look into it, but that would be more telling in my opinion than considering players NDSU has gotten. Maybe that's been discussed in previous pages of this thread too. I'm just jumping in at the end here and that question came to my mind.

If Minnesota is a hotbed for players then Illinois has to be an Olympic sized pool of molten lava of high school talent because when it comes to HS talent, IL>MN.

I think he was talking about our recruiting footprint. We seem to be pulling our talent from Illinois and Wisconsin, both states are better sources of talent than Minnesota.
