Maybe Gene will have the Hawkeyes to the SHAC for the inaugural game.

It is pretty much impossible to get the Gophers to come here. I'm guessing it would take going there 2 or 3 times plus a very large check to get them to even think about it. B1G teams don't like to leave their friendly home confines during non-conference very often outside neutral site games.

Why would they want to come to Fargo? What is the benefit for them?

What's the benefit of Nebraska traveling to Omaha?

Its a good regional game. Fans like and its not like were in a different division. Heck we've been to the big dance as many times as the gophers since 2009. (And won as many games too) Easy trip game. Heck they traveled to Richmond. The women's team played in Fargo once. Their non conference schedule at home has had teams well behind us in RPI. Heck the last 2 years they had American, Montana, Wofford, Lehigh, Tennesee State, and Coastal Carolina. Every game was a blowout. Had they beaten us it would have improved their rpi

For what it's worth (and I know it was a different era), the University of Minnesota in the late 1960s played a men's basketball game at UND. Of course, the fact that Bill Fitch, then U of M head basketball coach, had previously coached the Sioux might have had something to do with the scheduling and location of that game. Incidentally, Minnesota won a close game that evening.

I think the biggest reason was it was the late 1960's. Times were just different then.
