Packers starting LT (highest paid OL in history) apparently tore his ACL in practice yesterday. Billy being listed as probable first in line to replace him.

If packers offense continues outstanding play with run through playoffs, Billy might get himself paid ridiculous bucks.

Hopefully Zack J can move up in the lineup too

BT’s current contract includes 2021 & 2022, unless Green Bay redoes.
Would be an unrestricted FA at age 31 if the Pack doesn’t extend the contract.

Billy Turner signed a 4 year, $28,000,000 contract with the Green Bay Packers, including a $9,000,000 signing bonus, $9,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $7,000,000. In 2020, Turner will earn a base salary of $2,200,000, a roster bonus of $3,300,000 and a workout bonus of $350,000, while carrying a cap hit of $8,100,000 and a dead cap value of $12,300,000.
Spotrac has this note in the details:

    POTENTIAL OUT: 2021, 2 YR, $16,850,000; $4,500,000 DEAD CAP
Anyone know if that is a player option?
    Team option? Both???

It isn't a true option. They're just saying GB will have the chance to cut him after this season and only take 4.5 mil in a dead cap charge after this year, while not paying him for remainder of his deal.

If they did this, 4.5 mill would count against their 2021 cap, BT would be an unrestricted free agent, and GB would still have to replace BT. Pretty unlikely with how well he's played and the versatility he's shown.

He's already making pretty ridiculous bucks, so he's pretty set in that regard.

Well, I took it that 92 was talking about something more along these lines...

Yeah he’s great and under contract and everything, but LTs get paid differently in the league. Especially when you have tape of yourself protecting a legend.

This will be a big couple weeks for Billy. Prove you can perform on the top offense in the NFL, at a premium position and you'll get PAID.

Billy's nearing the end of prime age for an OL, but with minimal injury history, if he puts together 2-4 (hopefully 4) great games this winter he should be able to snag one last great contract to take him to retirement.

Haven’t been able to watch the game. Has Billy been blocking Mack?

Yes. He gave up one scrambling sack. Otherwise he was superb. Mack was a non factor in the game.
