I don't expect it to take long to announce Dave Richman as the next head coach, will see how the staff shakes out.

I think Richman is the guy but I can't say that this is a bad idea. This job has never been as attractive as it is right now.

Agreed. I honestly don't know a lot about Richman and maybe he fits the following sentence, but I know Im not the only one who wouldnt mind seeing some different philosophies offensively and defensively.
I don't care how the vote ended up. They still suck and always will.

Wow, tough news. Best of luck to Saul. I hope Richman is the guy.

The only thing I know about Richman is pretty much what I read in last months Bison Illustrated. For those that would like him, what about him would make a good HC? What are his pluses and minuses?

I can't lie, there are some high major assistants that I would love to call(Dane Fife, Steve Forbes, Greg Gard, Bacari Alexander). This is why we have Gene though, I'm sure he will make the best decision.

I do like Dave though. Will be happy no matter what happens.

National search isn't going to happen, Richman will be named by weeks end.

I for one am excited, Dave will do a great job. I agree it would interesting too see what names would come through if it was open.

    Three quick pluses...

    1. Has a reputation as a very good recruiter.

    2. Has been at NDSU for over a decade and knows the system very well which will keep the continuity going on what is a very good thing right now.

    3. This one is big...is from the area as is his wife (they both graduated from NDSU). They have 4 young kids and all of their family lives in the area as well. Point being that when he is successful, will take something pretty big/special to tear him away.
