Default Project the Bison '14-'15 MBB Starters

I think it will be interesting to see who starts and who will be the first few off the bench next year. Who gets the nod? Do we start LA and Dupree and have one if them play SG with Brown at SF?

    Locks to start
    Alexander
    Brown
    Kading

    Options to start
    Dupree
    Werner
    Jacobson
    VandenBergh

Right now I would have to say....

    LA
    Carlin
    Brown
    AJ
    Kading

That is a small lineup but they could run. Of course we do still have two scholarships to fill.

Miller and Wesenberg are my two freshman to watch.

I agree with the lock everyone has picked. We are losing a lot of our scoring and it will be fun seeing who takes on that role. We often redshirt the freshmen but I wouldn't be surprised to see Miller or one of the others contribute right away. He looks like a really good offensive player and we are going to need that.

Tough to say. If we want to be competitive immediately, I say we should try to land a transfer in the mold of Andre Smith. If we have to depend on the young kids to carry us next year, the results could be more like 2010 but long term it would pay dividends. Gotta ease the young kids into the lineup. Can we land a legit transfer?

This. Unless we get an absolute gem late in the recruiting process

    LA
    Brown
    Kading

...are the locks, Kading due to the fact that he's our only guy who's taller than 6'6. Can't recall if I posted this earlier or if I deleted it mid-post, but I don't know that I trust Werner with big minutes just yet. I've heard good things regarding his reach and athleticism but I'll reserve judgment until I see him on the court more regularly. I think Evan Wesenberg is going to get big minutes from the get go, but that will leave our bench pretty short. Need to have a big signing in the late period to get some much-needed height, luckily our tournament win should help with that significantly. Wouldn't be surprised at Dupree getting a big chunk of the rotation, his behind-the-back move and OU game heroics were crazy good.

A quality transfer would be nice but, in terms of future outlook, I think that LA is our only senior next year. If we do play some freshmen (as someone else pointed out we are hurting for size and will have to play Wesenberg) we could end up situated very nicely for he following year.

Werner should get his chance. There's a kid with some attitude and not afraid to show it. We need some of that.
