And it seems to work for the Montana schools.

But seriously, yes that should help since Wyoming is a physical team with a great running back.

Don't forget the 7,000+ altitude. And yes, the physical style of football that Wyoming plays will help them better in the nasty elements.

Well that set off my internet nerd alarm. And, heck, you made me curious.

Laramie's average high temp in December is 12 degrees warmer than Fargo's (15 degrees warmer in January), but their average wind speed is 2-3 mph higher (!!!) and that makes a huge difference - wind speed is why places like Grand Rapids seem so much warmer to me than Fargo.

Of course, lately, winter in Fargo hasn't had much bite so maybe Laramie has been cooler lately.

The winters in Grand Rapids seemed very mild compared to Fargo because of the lack of high winds.

I've been to Laramie during the Winter about a dozen times and between the wind, landscape, downtown, etc., I felt beyond miserable there. During the Summer, the weather is better, but still a miserable place.

I was watching the play by play on this game, and thought it was a big mistake when Wyoming didn't go for 2pts in the bottom of the second OT. Go with the hot hand and let your offense win it, cuz his defense sure as shit wasn't getting the job done in this game. I'm sure pokeville agrees with me.

When I saw that score my first thought was that it was kind of cool their basketball teams were playing on the same day. No purple. It took a while to sink in that it was a football score.

well... The Wyoming defense must have been exposed or something. 3 weeks ago they are riding high and then they almost blow a 35-7 lead and allow 70 to UNLV. This isnt the time of year you want your defense to go to shut.

Now their offense... That is a joy to watch!
