economic historian robert fogel's done some interesting research on the relationship between wealth height and wellbeing.

The dutch are the tallest people on earth, but others are gaining quickly. Europeans/Americans have essentially closed the gap. And 'short' races are gaining quickly.

Wonder are they only considering "purebreds" or if mutts are also counted.

15 monthes ago, during a 6 week break from chemo, wife and I went to Wash. DC with some friends, to meet with certain Congressional folks for crop insurance issues, but mostly because we had never been to DC before and wanted to see the sites. This was during lent, so on a Friday night we decided to go to supper at a fancy seafood restaurant right near our motel, which was right in the Capitol Hill district. Turns out all the "tv-news" networks, has a bureau in the same building all above that fish-food-place. CNN, Fox News, etc. We walked in got seated and a guy from CNN, for whatever reason came over to our table and asked us where we were from. This guy works as a producer, yet he could tell we were out-of-towners. We told him..North Dakota!! He said.."Wow, the land of Oil, Ag and big strong healthy people who will someday rule this country!! We laughed, then he immediately went over to the bar area, which is a pretty popular watering hole in DC we found out, and brought a "friend" over to our table! It was Bret Baier, from Fox News. Baier starts asking us all about the oil of course, then he too said.."look at you folks...big strong, healthy, and I will bet none of you are afraid to eat meat"?
We lol'ed our asses off! Then they both proceeded to say to us, that they werent kidding...the CNN guy said.."Look at you folks, you work for a living, not afraid of hard physical labor, you get out in the fresh air, and you eat food that builds your body up, not like here in the East where most people are vegetarians"!!
