    Default 2015 Minnesota High School All- Star Football Game

    The MFCA Tackle Cancer All-Star Football Game rosters include some familiar names:

    North All-Stars

    - QB Michael Veldman - Becker
    - QB James Hendricks - Bemidji
    - TE Ben Ellefson - Hawley
    - OL Zack Johnson - Spring Lake Park

    South All-Stars

    - WR Robbie Grimsley - Hutchinson

    Six All-Star players have older brothers who also played in the All-Star Game:
    Dawson Brown (Becker; brother Gavin 2011), Ben Mezzenga (Totino-Grace; brother Gabe 2010), Michael Veldman
    (Becker; brother Matt 2007), Clark Wieneke (Maple Grove; brother Jake 2013), Sam Zenner (Eagan; brother Zach
    2010), Shane Zylstra (New London-Spicer; brother Brandon 2011).

    Four All-Star players are second generation All-Stars (their fathers also played in the All-Star Game):
    Jake Lacina (Cretin-Derham Hall; father Corbin; 1989 Cretin-Derham Hall), Ben Mezzenga (Totino-Grace; father Tony
    1983 Totino-Grace), Ryan Schlichte (Mankato West; father Dave 1979 Worthington),
    Michael Veldman (Becker; father Gregg 1978 South St. Paul),.

    Three other All-Star players are also second generation All-Stars (their fathers coached in the All-Star Game):
    James Hendricks (Bemidji, father Troy), Brad Bahlmann (Marshall, father Terry) Ben Buthe (New Prague, father tony).

    The 2015 game has both the AP Player of the Year (Ryan Schlichte) and the MFCA Mr. Football Award winner
    (Robbie Grimsley, also the Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year). Both will play for the South All-Stars.

    South beats the North squad 21-10
    For the North squad:

    North starting quarterback James Hendricks (Bemidji), who is headed to Division I North Dakota State,
    finished 6 of 20 passing for 58 yards with a touchdown. (11 rushes for 23 yards)

    Becker quarterback Michael Veldman left the game with an injury in the fourth quarter.
    Veldman, the Times' Prep Football Player of the Year, went 2 of 5 passing for 19 yards.
    Veldman is also headed to North Dakota State next year.
    Ben Ellefson - 1 reception for 12 yards
    Robbie Grimsley - 3 receptions for 14 yards (South squad)
